Business Oxygen was founded by Laurie Fitzgerald in the late 1900’s to provide SME’s with the resources to build businesses that were not only successful financially but allowed the business Owners to achieve their life goals.

Meet the People

Laurie Fitzgerald

Laurie has over 25 years experience in Finance and Business Management. He started a public sector career in Justice Administration and in the following years held positions as diverse as Liquor Industry Regulation, Public Housing Management and Industrial Development. After leaving the public sector Laurie was engaged to implement and manage the Regional Operations of the Small Business Development Corporation and then manage the Regional Business Services for a first tier accounting firm. In 1992 he commenced private practice as a Business Management Consultant providing business development support and Business Restructuring Advice to Industrial, Commercial and Manufacturing Businesses.

Laurie is currently active in a non executive board role for some of Western Australia’s leading private companies in the area of Mining Services, Forest Harvesting, Construction Services, Recruitment as well as maintaining a direct interest in enterprises in Franchising, Trade Services, System Development, Aviation, Financial Services and Primary Production.

Laurie still takes a keen interest in the success of Business Oxygen and it’s clients.

Ben Talbot

Business Oxygen’s operations are overseen by General Manager, Ben Talbot.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), a Masters of Business Administration and is currently completing his Masters of Professional Accounting and is ideally suited to the role of helping business owners realize their dreams due to his unique experience.

In particular, Ben’s early background in training candidates on systems, operations and regulations in the aviation industry give him an appreciation of the ‘life or death” consequences of successfully or otherwise executing a plan or action.

Ben applies this high level of “outcome based thinking” to every clients business process and operation to ensure that you can really make your business fly!

Ben is constantly innovating business processes to overcome many of the traps for business operators and enable them to concentrate on the business of achieving their goals.

One of Ben’s own goals was to complete an “Ironman” event which he successfully achieved in 2008, so if you need dedication and persistence that will be a walk in the park for Ben.
